🎨 About Me – Extended Bio
The Story Behind the Brush: Culture, Emotion & Evolution.
Hi! I’m Denise Lopez Aleman, the artist behind La Femita. Born in Mexico City and raised in Oaxaca, my artistic journey began as a child when I declared I wanted to be a painter.
Although life took me through many paths—from culinary school in Argentina to running a restaurant and working in wellness—I never stopped creating. Drawing and painting remained the thread that connected all my experiences.
In 2016, I finally embraced my true calling: art. I left everything behind to become a full-time artist and muralist, combining my love for painting and travel. This decision opened the doors to projects and mural festivals across Mexico, Peru, and the United States.
From painting private homes to live events and teaching at a Montessori school in Baja California, my work evolved with each new experience.

About Me
The Story Behind the Brush: Culture, Emotion & Evolution.
Today, I live in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, where I continue to explore new techniques and styles—from canvas painting and murals to hand embroidery and block printing.
My work blends nature, emotion, and cultural influences, often incorporating vibrant colors and textures. I’m passionate about creating pieces that connect with the heart and bring beauty and emotion to the spaces they inhabit.
Whether it’s a large mural, a delicate embroidered detail, or a canvas full of movement and color, my art is a reflection of my journey—a colorful, soulful expression of who I am and what inspires me.
Let’s create something beautiful together.
